IMPLEMENTS CLEAR BACKPACK POLICY FOR 6-12TH GRADE STUDENTS

Reno Luna / Public Information Officer

SFDRCISD officials have announced that for the 2022-23 school year, the District will provide

back-to-school supplies every PK-8th grade student returning to school this fall. This service to

the families in our community is a one-time opportunity that will be provided through the

Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding for state and local

educational agencies.

With the help of school principals, the District has been able to compile a list of essential school

supplies typically recommended for each grade level and shared with parents and local

businesses prior to the start of the school year. This year, parents will only need to supply their

child with a back pack.

It is important to note that beginning this August, SFDRCISD will implement a Clear Backpack

Policy for all secondary-level students. Clear backpacks will be required for 6th -12th grade

students returning to school this fall semester. Although encouraged, students in grades PK-5th

grade will not be required to have clear backpacks at this time.
