Following the traumatic assault occurring recently in Uvalde, which left 19 elementary school students and two teachers dead, the San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District is offering counseling and support services to local students to cope with this loss.
“As a school community, we are deeply saddened by the recent school tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. We recognize and understand that many of our parents and children alike may be experiencing a multitude of emotions,” the local school district said in a release.
“We want to ensure to the greatest degree possible, that every student receives the support and assistance he or she needs to cope with this loss. We also want you to know that we are committed to providing resources and support for you and your family now, during the summer, and throughout the 2022-2023 school year,” the release signed by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carlos Rios.
San Felipe Del Rio CISD counselors will be available at the following campuses this summer, Monday through Friday, through July 1, 2022

• Garfield Elementary 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Dr. Fermin Calderon Elementary 8 a.m. to 2 p.m
• Lamar Elementary 8 a.m. to 2 p.m
• Dr Lonnie Green Elementary 8 a.m. to 2 p.m
• San Felipe Memorial Middle School 8 a.m. to 2 p.m
• Del Rio Middle School 8 a.m. to 2 p.m
• Del Rio Freshman School 8 a.m. to 3 p.m
• Del Rio High School 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Blended Academy 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The school district also shared other agencies and resources available to the community to help them cope with the tragedy.

Distrito escolar ofrece recursos por tragedia de Uvalde

Tras el traumático ataque ocurrido recientemente en Uvalde, el cual dejó 19 estudiantes de primaria y dos maestros muertos, el Distrito Escolar Independiente Consolidado de San Felipe Del Río está ofreciendo servicios de asesoramiento y apoyo a los estudiantes locales para hacer frente a esta pérdida.
“Como comunidad escolar, estamos profundamente entristecidos por la reciente tragedia escolar en la Escuela Primaria Robb en Uvalde. Reconocemos y entendemos que muchos de nuestros padres e hijos pueden estar experimentando multitud de emociones”, dijo el distrito escolar local en un comunicado.
“Queremos asegurarnos, en la medida de lo posible, que cada estudiante reciba el apoyo y la asistencia que necesita para sobrellevar esta pérdida. También queremos que sepa que estamos comprometidos a brindar recursos y apoyo para usted y su familia ahora, durante el verano y durante todo el año escolar 2022-2023”, dice el comunicado firmado por el Superintendente de Escuelas Dr. Carlos Ríos.
