officials were notified that another student was detained by the City of Del Rio Police
in the early morning hours for posting a threat to shoot a school on his Instagram account. An
individual reported the threat to DRPD and through their investigation, late last night, were able to
locate the student associated with the Instagram account. Law enforcement officers were able to
detain and charge the student with making a terroristic threat.
It is important to note that the social media posting did not target a specific school or location. It
is also important to note that although it was a false threat, it still causes fear. As such, parents,
students, and the community alike are warned that any threat, whether real or joke is punishable
under law.

ESTUDIANTE JUVENIL DETENIDO POR AMENAZA TERRORISTA EN LAS REDES
SOCIALES
Los funcionarios de SFDRCISD fueron notificados de que otro estudiante fue detenido por la
PolicÃa de la Ciudad de Del RÃo en horas de la madrugada por publicar una amenaza de disparar
a una escuela en su cuenta de Instagram. Un individuo reportó la amenaza a DRPD y, a través
de su investigación anoche, pudieron localizar al estudiante asociado con la cuenta de Instagram.
Los agentes de la ley pudieron detener y acusar al estudiante de hacer una amenaza terrorista.
Es importante tener en cuenta que la publicación en las redes sociales no se dirigió a una escuela
o ubicación especÃfica. También es importante tener en cuenta que, aunque fue una falsa
amenaza, todavÃa causa miedo. Como tal, se advierte a los padres, estudiantes y a la comunidad
por igual que cualquier amenaza, ya sea real o de broma, es punible según la ley.
