DRHS Administration received an anonymous report early this evening in regard to a social media posting on Instagram with a caption reading, “New bomb threat?” Following an investigation by campus administrators, the student admitted responsibility for the post, stating that he was joking about the bomb threat that occurred last Wednesday. Law enforcement officers were able to detain and charge the high school student with making a terroristic threat. SFDRCISD Police are now transferring the student to the Juvenile Justice System.
We share this information with you in effort to encourage continuous conversations between parents and students regarding the legal ramification of making any type of threat, especially social media threats. Social media threats often create fear and panic among students and parents, causing disruption to an entire school system. These threats will result in the most serious legal consequences.

La administración de DRHS recibió un informe anónimo temprano esta noche con respecto a una publicación en las redes sociales en Instagram con una leyenda que decía: "¿Nueva amenaza de bomba?" Tras una investigación realizada por los administradores del campus, el estudiante admitió la responsabilidad de la publicación, afirmando que estaba bromeando sobre la amenaza de bomba que ocurrió el miércoles pasado. Los agentes de la ley pudieron detener y acusar alestudiante de secundaria de hacer una amenaza terrorista. La policía de SFDRCISD ahora está transfiriendo al estudiante al Sistema de Justicia Juvenil.
Compartimos esta información con usted en un esfuerzo por fomentar conversaciones continuas entre padres y estudiantes con respecto a la ramificación legal de hacer cualquier tipo de amenaza, especialmente las amenazas de las redes sociales.
